Anne Kosacheff
Raised in 20-acres in the lower peninsula of Michigan, college-educated at Central Michigan University and Russell Sage College (in upstate NY), Anne Kosacheff arrived in Alaska in February of 1996, an artist rookie. Focused mainly on her primary job as a Physical Therapist, it was a year or so before she entered the world or ceramics. After 15-plus years of practicing, Anne is a regular in the ceramics room. She relies on her other hobbies of outdoor activities (walking, running, camping, fishing, ect.) for her inspiration for her ceramic "paintings." While 'functional art' is often seen coming out of her kiln there are other, 'less functional more art-y ' pieces to be found.
